The Hurricane Sports team delivered Quicksticks Hockey Training Sessions for our Leadership Academy and teachers within the City schools. This will hopefully lead to a successful festival later in the academic year.
The tutors involved were excellent and made the course content both relevant and enjoyable to the groups they were delivering to. We would have no hesitation in both utilising Hurricane's services in the future, as well as recommending them to others.

I attended the EHB Quicksticks Qualification at the Lindum Sports Ground on 29/04/13

The content was fantastic and every trainee had access to materials needed to pass the qualification. There was always a member of Hurricane Sport available to guide you through the session and answer any questions you may have.

The course trainer was easy to understand and follow and was very approachable. The session was organised well with an indoor area for the classroom based part of the qualification and a good area outside to undertake the practical aspect of the qualification. Very impressed with how smoothly the course operated. As a beginner to coaching I feel it is a great qualification to start my coaching journey, it is a good qualification to get you on the coaching ladder and get a taste for sports coaching.

I took part in the Quicksticks Leadership Award on the 29th Apr 2013 at the Lindum Sports Association

The event was very well organised, with the right balance between verbal and practical instruction. The aims/objectives were well briefed and the handouts covered the course perfectly.

The tutor is exceptionally gifted at getting the knowledge across to a varied level of participants.

I intend to take the next level course. I'm also considering other hockey coaching courses through Hurricane Sports and I would recommend them to others without hesitation

The leader and the assistants all knew the information in detail and adapted the delivery style so that all learning styles were covered.

This qualification will enable me to get involved in delivering LRHC junior section over the coming years.

I took part in the quicksticks leadership training I thought that you guys did a great job of delivering the course material. You made it easy for us to understand and we also had a bit of fun at the same time.
When we went outside for the practical side of things this was also delivered to us very well. Overall it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and I would recommend Hurricane sports to any local school or club to provide training events.

It was very good to have 3 people helping deliver the course with 31 attendees, Gary was very good at clearly explaining the essentials with Matt very helpful and giving tips on the best way to deliver the coaching session.

Overall it was very good course and I really enjoyed it.

I would most definitely recommend Hurricane Sports

I undertook the Quicksticks Leadership Qualification at the Lindum Sports Association 6-9pm Monday 22nd April 2013.

The course information was sufficient for the audience, given that most attendees were experienced hockey players. There was a good mix of both practical and classroom activity and all particpants had the opportunity to deliver some training. This was useful in terms of seeing which approach would best engage the participants.

All staff were helpful and relaxed, the staff involved showed that they had lots of experience in delivering sessions like this and their little tips were very useful.

Overall I was very satisfied and I would definitely recommend to others

Hurrican Sports delivered a Quick Sticks course to the Lincoln College Foundation Degree students and the service provided was exceptional.

Setting up the course was really easy due to the responsive nature of Gary and his team. The students found the course fun and engaging and have learnt or reinforced lots of skills that compliment their Foundation Degree course.

I would strongly recommend their services.

I took part in the EHB Quicksticks Leadership Award run by Hurricane Sports on Monday 22nd April 2013 at the lindum Sports ground.

The resources were very useful in terms of being able to guide and assist you through the course whether you were a beginner or at a more advanced level of coaching. Therefore it did help improve my knowledge in how to teach beginners of hockey or young children. As well as that it was clearly explained where you could get all the resources from yourself.

The coaching team was very helpful in giving me advice and working in different situations and given out clear and concise instructions. It was also well structured considering my injury situation where I could not always full participate in all events.

The course was very good and i would easily recommendable to others who wished to look into taking part in the course.

I took part in the EHB Quicksticks Leadership Award at the Lindum Sports Association run by Hurricane Sports.
Great resources were available. The presentation was supported with a Hurricane Sports quicksticks information pack. The challenge cards were used in the planning of our session, this can be daunting to those new to the game, but the resources used were really helpful in giving them confidence.

I enjoyed the way the staff guided the practical aspect of the session rather than just instructed and led it themselves. They allowed us to have a go and gave us tips on how to improve as hockey leaders.

Overall it was a great session that was very practical and suited to those taking the session.
I am from a hockey background it wasn't basic but linked quicksticks to the actual game.
I would definitely recommend others to take the qualification.

I took part in the EHB Quicksticks Leadership Award through Hurricane Sports.
The content was easy to follow and guided throughout by experienced coaches. Lots of opportunities given to put the theory into a practical setting by using the challenge cards to promote the correct use of skills and techniques.

Excellent resources available both in a material sense and also with the people available to support with the session. The coaches were helpful and encouraging, often referring back to their own experiences of coaching the sport.

I would definitely recommend to others

I undertook the Quicksticks Leadership award on Monday 22nd April 2013 at Lindum Cricket and Sports Club.
It was ann enjoyable course and the resources used were very handy in aiding the group to pick up the coaching techniques and session delivery quickly. For those of us that don’t already work in a teaching environment, it was easy to pick up hints and tips from others as well as the course coaches.

The course was run very well by Gary, Matt and Stuart. The whole evening went smoothly and was very enjoyable largely thanks to the service provided by the coaches.

I would recommend this course to anybody who is interested in or required to coach/teach hockey to children either in a school or club environment

I took part in the EHB Quicksticks Leadership Award at the Lindum Sports Association run by Hurricane Sports.
As a coach who has only had basic experience of playing hockey I found the knowledge and resources I gained from the Quicksticks Leadership Award very beneficial. The information provided has made me feel much more confident in delivering hockey and has given me ideas and inspiration for how I would go about this in the future.

The staff delivering the training were very knowledgeable and approachable; and this helped to create a friendly learning atmosphere throughout the course.

Overall I would highly recommended the Quicksticks Leadership Award delivered by Hurricane Sports, it is an excellent way of developing your knowledge of hockey coaching and also considering how to make the sport engaging for a younger age range

I took part in the EHB Quicksticks Leadership Award at the Lindum Sports Association.
I found that the booklet designed by Hurricane Sports for all attendees with example lesson plans, risk assessments and progression (STEP) moves were very useful for the less experienced coaches and volunteers. Those who have completed this course can help in any quicksticks session now being run within the club environment with ease and confidence.

I was working with Stuart and found that he related the game play, as well as the "practice" coaching sessions very well, as he kept bringing it back to "how would this work with a Year 3?" type of question.
The presentation was delivered by Gary very well with good use of the videos where necessary.

Having completed the full L2 course in the past, it was good to get another "tool to add to the toolbox" to help with the growing youth section. From a "Chairman's Perspective" it's great to see so many people WANT to take part in this style of course and has included NEW and longstanding members. Also, the evening included a colleague of one of the members and she is keen to join the club over the summer and take part herself!

I would absolutely recommend this training event to others, it has bought 30 members together (plus a new 1 in total) and shows that the LRHC is going in the right direction as well as eagerness and willingness of individuals to give something back for the younger generation.
